Every year about this time, I wonder why I didn’t make plans to attend the Braun Brothers Reunion in Challis, Idaho. IDAHO...that sounds beautiful right about now. A couple of days ago, when I saw Cody Braun from Reckless Kelly, he said it is an adventure just getting there. It is even a four hour drive from Boise, which makes it something you have to plan well in advance. But for those that do, a splendid time will be had by all. The lineup is totally kick ass, among them Greencards, Rodney Crowell, Robert Earl Keen, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Walt & Tina Wilkins, Cody Canada & The Departed, and of course Reckless Kelly and Micky & The Motorcars. It just gets better and better every year.
Cody gave me a copy of the new RK album, which is coming out on September 13th, and it is awesome in content, and its innovative packaging. As they start their own label, it is with their best foot forward, and we wish them Good Luck and True Love. Yeah, that’s the name of the new album too.
I gotta think Dad, Muzzie Braun, has got to be so proud of his offspring. They are following their hearts, and making their dreams a reality. Reckless Kelly's new album is just around the corner, and Micky & The Motorcars new CD, Raise My Glass, is out today. It includes a couple of tracks we've brought you in past posts, “Never Been Out West” and “St. Lucy's Eyes.”
Today’s song was recorded during MusicFest at Steamboat Springs in January. It is a song you can find on the Micky & The Motorcars Careless and Live At Billy Bob’s Texas CDs. The Music Fog version is simply and purely Micky Braun, doing “Long and Lonely Highway.”
