Anne McCue "Hangman"

My kitchen is presently being disassembled, to be rebuilt later today, kinda like the smell of a new car, but instead with all new wood and granite. I am getting ready for a move to Austin, Texas, and for the last two months I have been paring down, with POD in driveway.

I am happy to report that we are almost done, and the POD is only half full right now. Freedom is in the lightening of one's load. Took a break from the sorting and the packing and the donating to go up to Cyclops in Baltimore on 8/4 to see Anne McCue. You know, she is a friend of the Sin City Social Club folks, who we love dearly. They do shows in L.A. and Austin, and are like the eternal flame of roots music, they keep the drumbeat going surely, steadily, at all times. Not sure how they know Anne, but it might be the L.A. connect. Anne is Aussie, by way of the left coast (what is it about Australia that breeds such talented Americana women?) I had my kid meet me after work; he loves Anne's music from me playing it on the radio. When he shook hands with her, he said it would be OK with him if she threw the set list out and just did an extended version of "Hangman" for an hour and a half. He loves this song….so do I! As I recall, it was on the album Roll. We bring you a haunting, sparse, stripped down, lightening one's load version of it!
