A word about deep tissue massage. Ahhhh. Really! After having surgery in late March there is scar tissue in my foot, which has limited my mobility. It has been making me limp, which was the initial reason I had the surgery to begin with. Three months of taking baby steps to getting better, but now I want to take it on; walking, hiking, biking, getting physical again with no limits. It is time to get going. But I have been favoring my left side, and throwing my right out. Backstage at High Sierra Music Festival was a massage tent, with an incredible team of dedicated people. What a wonderful thing as a counterpoint to working the Fat Music webcast. The folks were from Oakland, California, so if you are ever there and in need, I would be happy to hook you up with Fred Blake and his Dad, Art. Caring, giving, helping, healing.
These kinds of disciplines used to be less well regarded back in the old days when it HAD to be Western medicine or nothing. I am so glad other things are being embraced now. I like the medical practitioners who combine alternative with conventional. And I say why not. You know, so does Kasey Chambers. She prominently displays her endorsement of the NIIM. I am going to be seeing her in concert soon, and I can’t wait to catch up with her on all the other lovely things that have been going on in her life for these last few years. It is just a quick US tour in support of her new album Little Bird. Here are her US dates, I hope she is coming to a city near you. And a new Kasey Chambers album is always a treat! Here is one of the tunes from it, “Beautiful Mess.”
