It was in the dead of night...
The Music Fog crew rolled into Memphis aboard a rental SUV pack to the gills with recording equipment and a trunk load of clothing to keep the fashionable Jessie Scott fashionable. We took a hard right hand turn off of the interstate after receiving an email from Stoney Larue inviting us to a performance in a Memphis dive bar. Ben Krech was the “wheel man" and found the rental SUV to be cat-like on the streets of Memphis.
We arrived at our destination and found a parking spot in front of the bar that was just a little too small for a comfortable parallel park (you know the one). Then came the announcement: “Have you guys ever been wowed by a parallel park job?” He then proceeded to perform an 18-point slither into the spot. It was the equivalent of packing 10 pounds of Memphis fried chicken into a 5 pound bag. Nothing was touched. Nothing was bumped. It was magnificent. Only one witness saw the Joey Chitwood stunt with the rental SUV...it was Stoney himself. You could say Stoney was wowed too. There was applause. Then a quote: “what kink of asshole would try something like that?” The answer is easy...our asshole.
