We were stylin' in a luxurious motor coach, but were quickly upstaged when a slick black Cadillac rolled up next to the bus. Out stepped Raul Malo with a beautiful Takamine in hand, ready to get comfy on the couch and swoon a few!
When I hear Raul perform this classic, I float off to a different place in my head. The style with which he delivers the story seems to draw you in and steals any attention you may have mistakenly directed elsewhere. Time stops. Memories rush in. A crooked smile and a gleam in your eye make their presence known. All is right with the world. Wow, we could use some more of this, huh? It also reminds me to re-visit Raul's Marshmallow World & Other Holiday Favorites CD by this time next week---simply beautiful golden tones. But this will definitely hold me over 'til then...Welcome to My World.
