I've always admired Will Kimbrough's work; first as a player, then as a producer. He's made some beautiful records wearing either hat. Now, put him together with Tommy Womack, and you've got a one-two punch! In fact, my first introduction to the pairing was with their former band The Bis-quits. Much of the blues feel from that project carries over to DADDY---you can't shake the blues out of these guys.
I've been around each of them in the studio before, separately, but never together. So, I was sure to pick up some lessons during our time with them on the bus. I didn't realize it would be something simple like the familiar saying you've heard so many times before. But, can you relate? Uh...yeah.
