Morgan O'kane "Rain Rain"

It's a blur, with kaleidoscopic images, fleeting moments, snippets of dialog. And then there is a tornado that blows through. Morgan O'kane. The bus was literally rocking in place, we were all dancing so hard.

Some people ask about the process, how we pick the bands to come aboard in front of the Music Fog cameras. There is no recipe, other than some old, some new. Some girls, some boys. Some solos, some groups. Sometimes it is a recommendation, a feeling, nothing more. Shawna Cooper gave us the head's up about Morgan O'kane. You know about this guy? He was homeless, rode the rails as a hobo, and played in the NYC Subways. His old band was a "scum billy" outfit called Casa De Chihuahua. We're talking sheer joy here. Blow the roof off intensity. Gonzo spirit meets articulately flying fingers. Oh!

So Long, Folks

We are wrapped, well at least for the shooting part of our excursion to Folk Alliance 2010. Now comes post production, uploading, and then packing up and getting back on the highway. Memphis couldn't be a more gracious and charming city. We love the vibe, the food, and the warmth. We were even invited to "crash" a wedding celebration tonight.

This recording outing was really hard...not for the long hours, no food, and lack of sleep before we did it again the next day, but because we couldn't squeeze everyone in on the bus! So many artists we would have loved to bring by, but there was not enough time to do everybody. Which, when you get right down to it, is a damn nice problem to have. So we apologize to all that we didn't get to this time. We will see you down the road, somehow, somewhere. And to all who BROUGHT IT! To all the styles and personalities! Zany, serious, old friends and new. We filmed sessions with 38 artists in 3 days, this time. 14 today alone. Might be a personal best!

Huge thanks to Louis Meyers and Alexandra Felger from Folk Alliance, for aiding and abetting. What can we say about Celebrity Coaches. We are eternally grateful to get to make magic on an incredibly designed tour bus! Blake Olson, Bobby Michael, Jeff Michael...we can't say thanks loud enough.

Videos to follow, lots and lots of them over the coming weeks. And we will be announcing our next adventure soon! Love to Beans, Chris, Aaron, and Denise...from Jessie

Patty Larkin "Dear Heart"

She called, she came ready to rock. Patty Larkin is not opposed to opulence. But upon personal inspection of Blue Eyes, the Celebrity Coaches bus that Music Fog is running this boiler plate operation out of, she commented, "Yeah, done this."

Patty was all business. Under the hot Music Fog video lights, we didn't have to wipe her brow. The crew was amazed, and asked if she would share her uncanny 'no-sweat' technology. Patty smiled and ignored the question, took a couple of requests, but then told us what we going to hear. She had a veritable bag of tricks. This one involves a smoldering electric guitar, a smoking jacket, and then she pulled a bow out of her quiver. Or something. It WAS something! And simply amazing.
