Sarah Potenza "Bird"

Ever since New Year’s it has been sailing season. There are so many cruises wrapped around music, if you had the time off and the money, you could be out to ports of call for a couple of months. There is the Delbert McClinton Sandy Beaches, The Outlaw, The Cayamo, and The Rock Boat. Each has a bit of a different skew to the lineup, but each is a cool way to consume both the music and the alcohol, and the latter, of course without getting a DUI. Among the bands on The Rock Boat, which was hosted by Sister Hazel, were Barenaked Ladies, Will Hoge, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, Cowboy Mouth, and our buddy, Sarah Potenza. I am sure it was a blast. One of these years, I gotta get away. Really, I do. You should too!

Meantime, Sarah is still rocking the terrestrial road as well, and there are tons of dates. You gotta see her, she has a big voice, and an even bigger heart. She is fearless and fun. We can’t wait to see what she does next. Music Fog filmed her a while back, at 3rd & Lindsley Backstage in January of 2016. This is a song of yearning, and it is powerful stuff. Here is the Music Fog recording of "Bird."

Colin Linden "Everybody Ought To Be Loved"

2017 is rapidly coming to a close, and this year seemed to fly by faster than ever. I hope you have cool plans for the holidays, and that they include some family time, and friend time, too. I hope you take a moment to meditate on what is important to you. I hope that you can break bread with the ones you love.

The Music Fog crew will be gathering again in early 2018 to do some filming, and I can’t wait. We will be shooting in Nashville this January, and we will have more to come about that soon. But basically, this just means more new videos will continue to roll your way!

Last time The Fog got together in Nashville, we invited Colin Linden to perform. He is a force of nature: stellar guitar slinger, extraordinary producer and all around nice guy. I am so looking forward to what he is going to deliver in 2018, including his work with the new Paul Thorn Gospel album, which is coming soon.

In the spirit of the holidays, today Music Fog presents a video that was filmed at 3rd & Lindsley Backstage with Colin Linden, of a song that was on his most recent album, 2015’s Rich In Love. There is a world of hurt for us to put aside as we come upon the holiday season this year. The message is simple, “Everybody Ought To Be Loved.” Hear, hear!

Bonnie Bishop "Done Died"

It's Sunday, and so we have the perfect song for today. When last I saw Bonnie Bishop, she was performing at the AmericanaFest Gospel Brunch at City Winery Nashville this past September. Come to think of it, the time before that, Bonnie was performing in the Mission Temple Fireworks Revival, with Paul Thorn, The McCrary Sisters and Blind Boys of Alabama at The Franklin Theatre this summer. As it turns out, Paul and company are playing Mountain Stage today. Also look for the upcoming special that Mississippi Public Television filmed of the Franklin Theatre Show. By the way, Paul Thorn has a new Gospel album coming out after the first of the year, and he has amassed a rip roaring cast to share in bringing the good word. (Remember this gospel song we filmed with Paul?)

Bonnie Bishop kicks up the joy every time she sings, and she has a special gift for Gospel infused rockers. She is about to head across the pond to tour in Europe for November, before heading back to Austin for a gig at 3Ten ACL Live on December 1. Ya gotta see her play live! Here is Bonnie from a Music Fog session at 3rd & Lindsley Backstage in Nashville with “Done Died.”
