I landed in Austin today, and when I turned my phone back on, I heard that Duane Jarvis had passed last night, far too young, at 51. I loved his smile, the peace one felt around him, and his great guitar playing and sweet voice. We played him on X Country, my former radio station, one of the many "unsung" heroes I was able to shine a light on during my tenure as PD. I brought the "Far From Perfect" CD from Nashville to XM, where it was one of the first put into rotation in the library.
