Kevin Welch “Marysville”

Kevin was an unscheduled welcomed guest on the Threadgill’s Music Fog stage at SXSW.  Before he performed this song, he told the heart-wrenching story of Marysville, an Australian town of 500 that was destroyed in the recent brushfires. Kevin said it only took ten minutes from the time the fire was spotted by townspeople until nothing was left. And 100 had died.
Kane Welch Kaplin was touring Australia at the time of the fires and wanted to do what they could to help.  So goes the song “Marysville” written and recorded immediately after the tragedy.  The benefit for the victims continues.  You can buy your copy of the song here, and continue to help fire victims in Australia.
